Key takeaways
- Use qui for the subject of a relative clause (un chanteur qui a du talent); qui is the Foundation-tier relative pronoun.
- Build comparisons with plus / moins / aussi + adjective + que: elle est plus célèbre que lui, il est aussi connu qu'elle.
- The irregular comparative of bon is meilleur (better), not plus bon: ce film est meilleur que l'autre.
- Justify every opinion about a celebrity with a reason (parce que, car) and a qualifier (trop, vraiment, assez).
- Higher tier only: the object relative que (une actrice que j'admire) and the superlative (le/la/les plus + adjective) build richer sentences.

Frequently asked questions
Use qui when the relative pronoun is the subject of the verb that follows (une star qui chante bien); qui is required at both tiers. At Higher tier you also use que for the object (une star que j'admire), which shortens to qu' before a vowel.
Use plus (more), moins (less) or aussi (as) + adjective + que: elle est plus riche que lui (she is richer than him), il est aussi célèbre qu'elle (he is as famous as her). The adjective still agrees with its noun.
The comparative of bon (good) is meilleur (better), not plus bon: cette chanson est meilleure. At Higher tier, the superlative is le meilleur / la meilleure (the best): c'est le meilleur acteur français.
