Terms of Service

These terms apply when you access or use Aicademy.

By creating an account, signing in, or subscribing to a paid plan, you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

You can read our published lessons without an account. If that is all you do, only these sections apply to you: acceptable use, our content and intellectual property, disclaimers and liability, and the general section at the end.

Aicademy is run by Diba Malikzadeh, a sole trader based in the United Kingdom. In these terms, "we", "us" and "Aicademy" mean that business.

If we need to contact you, we will use the email address on your account, or a message inside the product.

To use Aicademy, you must:

• Be at least 13 years old, and old enough to agree to these terms where you live
• Provide accurate account information and keep it reasonably up to date
• Keep your login details secure
• Be responsible for activity that happens through your account

If you are under 18, you can use the free plan yourself. For Pro, a parent or guardian needs to set it up — the card has to be theirs, and the subscription is an agreement between us and them. By subscribing, you are confirming that is the case.

If a Pro subscription was set up on your card by someone in your household without your say-so, email legal@useaicademy.com and we will refund it and cancel.

You are responsible for choosing a strong password and for signing out or securing your device when needed.

Aicademy is a study and learning platform. Depending on your plan, it may include generated lessons, quizzes, flashcard decks and learning paths, document uploads, revision notes, the Aica tutor, spaced-repetition review, progress tracking, PDF export, sharing and collaboration, and personalisation and accessibility tools.

Aicademy is an active product, and it will change. We may add, improve or replace features at any time.

We may also remove, pause or significantly change a feature where there is a good reason to — for example if it is not working reliably, a provider we depend on withdraws it, it is being misused, or the law or our costs change.

If you are on a paid plan and we remove or significantly reduce a feature you are paying for, we will tell you beforehand where we reasonably can. You can then cancel and get back the part of your subscription you have paid for but not used.

You keep ownership of the content you create or upload to Aicademy.

The lessons, quizzes, flashcards, paths and notes that Aicademy generates for you are yours as well. To the extent we have any rights in them, we give them to you. You can edit them, share them, and keep them if you stop paying — and on Pro you can export them to PDF.

To operate the service, we need permission to handle your content. You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, back up, process, format, transmit and display it, as needed to provide the features you use. That includes letting the providers we rely on carry out those functions for us — hosting, storage and infrastructure providers, and the AI providers that generate material and answer your questions.

We use this licence to run, secure and support the service. We do not use your content to train AI models, and the AI provider we use does not either.

You are responsible for making sure that:

• You have the right to upload, share, or publish the material
• Your content does not infringe someone else's rights
• You do not upload unlawful content or material you are not allowed to disclose

If you upload sensitive personal information, you do so at your own discretion. Please avoid uploading highly sensitive data unless it is genuinely necessary and lawful to do so.

Your content is private by default. Other people can only see it if you choose to share or publish it.

You can give specific people access to a lesson, quiz or path without publishing it. They can see what you have shared with them for as long as you leave that access in place, and you can remove it at any time.

When you publish content or share it to the community, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to reproduce, display, distribute, and promote that content on and through the service — including on public pages that do not require an account — and you grant other users a limited right to view and learn from it within the service. This licence lasts for as long as the content stays shared, plus a short period afterwards so we can remove copies from active systems and backups.

Please be aware that when content is shared publicly:

• Anyone can see it, including people who do not have an Aicademy account
• It may be indexed, cached, or shown by search engines and other third-party services, which we do not control
• Your profile information (such as your name and avatar) may appear alongside it, depending on your settings
• Unpublishing or deleting content stops future display by us, but it may not remove copies that others have already viewed, saved, cached, or shared

Only share content that you are comfortable being public and that you have the right to make public. If you are under 18, please get permission from a parent or guardian before sharing anything publicly.

We may review shared content, and we may stop showing it or take it down if we reasonably believe it breaks these terms or the law, or puts someone at risk. Unless it is serious or urgent, we will tell you why and give you a chance to put it right first, and you can always ask us to look again — section 14 explains how.

You agree not to use Aicademy to:

• Break the law or violate someone else's privacy, copyright, or other rights
• Upload harmful code, malware, or abusive, hateful, or fraudulent content
• Impersonate another person or misrepresent your affiliation
• Interfere with, probe, scrape, overload, or try to bypass the security or access controls of the service
• Use the platform in a way that violates academic integrity, workplace rules, exam rules, or other obligations that apply to you

We may remove content or restrict access if we reasonably believe these terms have been broken. Section 14 explains how we do that and what happens next.

Aicademy includes AI-generated assistance, including tutor replies and generated study material.

These features run on Microsoft Azure OpenAI. When you generate something or message the tutor, your request and the material it is working from are sent to that service so it can produce a response. It is not used to train AI models. Our Privacy Policy explains this in more detail.

• AI output may be incomplete, incorrect, outdated, or badly phrased
• You are responsible for reviewing and deciding how to use any AI-generated output
• Do not rely on Aicademy for medical, legal, financial, safety critical, or other professional advice
• You remain responsible for complying with any school, exam, research, or workplace rules that apply to your use of AI tools

Except for your content and third-party or open-source components, the Aicademy service, branding, and original site content are owned by Aicademy or its licensors.

The lessons we publish ourselves are free to read, and you are welcome to use them for your own study or teaching — including printing them or using them in a classroom. Please do not republish them elsewhere, sell them, or present them as your own work.

These terms do not transfer ownership of the platform to you. They only let you use the service in line with these rules.

Prices, billing intervals, and included features are shown before checkout and may vary by plan. The price you see includes any tax that applies, so there is nothing added on at the end.

Paid subscriptions renew automatically on the billing interval you choose unless cancelled before renewal. Payments and billing details are handled securely by Stripe. Aicademy does not store your full card details.

You can manage or cancel a paid Pro subscription from your account settings or through the Stripe billing portal. If you cancel, your Pro access continues until the end of the current billing period.

If you switch between monthly and annual billing while your subscription is active, the change is scheduled for the end of the current billing period. You will not be charged immediately for that billing interval change.

If a payment fails, we may retry it and pause Pro features until it goes through. We will email you before that happens.

We may change the price of Pro. If we do, we will give you at least 30 days' notice by email before the new price applies to you, and you can cancel before it takes effect. A price change never applies to a period you have already paid for.

If you are a consumer, you have a legal right to cancel a new Pro subscription within 14 days of subscribing and get your money back. You do not need to give a reason. This applies to monthly and annual plans alike.

Just tell us — emailing legal@useaicademy.com is enough on its own. It also helps to cancel from Settings → Plan so nothing renews while we sort the refund out, but that is for your convenience, not a condition. We will refund you using the same payment method you paid with, within 14 days of the day you tell us, and we will not charge a fee for it.

Because Pro gives you access straight away, we would be entitled to keep a share for the time you had already used. We do not. If you change your mind in the first 14 days, you get a full refund even if you have used Pro in the meantime.

The one thing we ask is that you do not use this repeatedly to get free access — subscribing, generating in bulk, refunding, and starting again. If an account does that, two things change for any later subscription: you still get your 14 days, but we will keep a fair amount for the days you actually had Pro and take it off the refund, and we may decide not to sell that account a new subscription at all.

After the first 14 days, subscription fees already paid are non-refundable — apart from the cases set out elsewhere in these terms, where we remove a feature you were paying for, end your subscription through no fault of yours, or change these terms, and apart from anything the law requires. Cancelling still stops the next renewal, and you keep Pro until the end of the period you have paid for.

If you cancel Pro, nothing is deleted. Your lessons, quizzes, flashcards, notes and paths stay in your account. You move back to the free plan and lose access to Pro-only features until you subscribe again, but the content you made with them stays.

If you delete your account, we delete your account and the study content in it, and published content is removed from public pages. Some copies may remain in backups for a short period before they are overwritten. Our Privacy Policy explains how long we keep things.

If you have an active Pro subscription, cancel it before deleting your account so you are not charged again.

You may stop using Aicademy at any time.

We may suspend, limit, or end access to an account if:

• These terms are broken
• We believe an account creates security, legal, or abuse risk
• We need to protect the platform, other users, or ourselves
• The law requires us to

Unless the problem is serious or urgent, or telling you first would make it worse, we will explain what the problem is and give you a chance to put it right before we act.

If we end a paid subscription for a reason that is not your fault, we will refund the part you have paid for but not used.

If you think we have got it wrong, email legal@useaicademy.com and we will look at it again.

We also may interrupt, change, or discontinue parts of the service, including for maintenance, fixes, or product changes.

If you come across published content that breaks these terms or the law, report it from inside the product or email legal@useaicademy.com. We review every report, and we may remove the content, contact the person who posted it, or restrict an account.

If something has gone wrong and you want to complain, email the same address. We aim to acknowledge complaints within 5 working days and to resolve them within 30 days.

If we cannot sort it out between us, you can ask an independent dispute resolution service to look at it. We are not signed up to a particular scheme, so we would agree one with you at that point — or you can go straight to the courts, and section 19 explains which ones.

We work hard to keep Aicademy reliable and accurate, but we cannot promise it will be perfect.

• Aicademy is a study aid, not a textbook and not a substitute for your own course material. AI can be incomplete, out of date, or simply wrong, and you should check anything that matters against your own notes or a primary source
• We do not promise the service will always be available, or entirely free of faults
• We do not promise any particular learning result, grade, exam score, or professional outcome
• We are not responsible for loss that was not reasonably foreseeable, or for loss connected with a business — such as lost profits, lost revenue, or lost business opportunity

None of this changes your legal rights. If you are a consumer, the Consumer Rights Act 2015 says the digital content and services we supply must match how we have described them, be of satisfactory quality, and be fit for purpose, and that we must act with reasonable care and skill. If we fall short, you may be entitled to a repair, a replacement, a price reduction, or a refund. Nothing on this page limits that, and the limit below does not apply to it.

What we never limit. Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else the law does not allow us to limit or exclude.

Our limit. Apart from the things above, our total liability to you for loss or damage is limited to the greater of £100 or the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the problem arose.

We may update these terms — for example when we add features, change how plans work, or when the law changes.

If a change is minor, we will update the date at the top of this page.

If a change is significant and affects you, we will tell you at least 30 days before it takes effect, by email or inside the product. If you do not want to accept it, you can stop using Aicademy — and if you are on a paid plan, you can cancel and get back the part you have paid for but not used.

Continuing to use Aicademy after a change takes effect means you accept it. We will not apply a change retrospectively to something that has already happened.

How we collect, use, and protect personal information is explained in our Privacy Policy.

Governing law. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and claims can be brought in the courts of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can also bring a claim in your local courts. If you are a consumer somewhere else, nothing here removes protections you have under the law where you live.

If part of these terms does not work. If a court finds any part of them unenforceable, the rest still applies.

Transferring these terms. We may transfer our rights and obligations to another organisation — for example if Aicademy is sold or restructured. We will tell you if that happens, and it will not reduce your rights. If you would rather not continue, you can cancel and get back any unused part of your subscription.

What forms the agreement. These terms and our Privacy Policy cover your use of Aicademy. Where something else we publish describes how a feature or a plan works — our Pricing page or FAQ, for example — that description counts too.
